Family: Notonectidae

Backswimmers can be found in all types of standing or slow flowing waters. They prefer habitats with lots of vegetation. As adults they are strong fliers and can migrate long distances. Like so many aquatic bugs they are attracted to lights. They are predators of small invertebrates.
