Species: Aedes communis
DIAGNOSIS: Tarsomeres lacking pale bands of scales. Postprocoxal membrane bare. Lower mesepimeral setae present. Scales extend to anterodorsal corner of katepisterunum. Abdomen with basal pale band of scales. Lateral margin of abdominal tergite I and paratergite with pale scales. Ventral margin of anepisternum scaled.
BIOLOGY: Found commonly in the boreal forest. Overwinters as eggs. Early species, with adults flying by mid May.
