Species: Aedes riparius


DIAGNOSIS: Tarsal segments with wide basal pale bands. Abdomen predominantly black scaled with intermixed yellow scales forming a sometimes vague basal band. Setae absent on lower mesepimeron. Tarsal claw relatively long and straight with a short subbasal tooth. A patch of pale scales usually present on the hypostigmal area.

BIOLOGY: Considered an uncommon species over its range. Old records may include euedes specimens.
