Species: Philarctus quaeris
The larvae construct tubular cases of a wide variety of materials including weed seeds, pea clam shells, snail shells and fragments and sand grains (Smith 1984). The species prefers smaller lentic habitats particularly weedy ponds. There is a single generation per year with the adults flying in mid August.
