Species: Rhyacophila vao Milne 1936
Smith (1984) found larvae of R. vao in the gravel/cobble of fast flowing streams in the northern boreal forest and Cypress Hills. He also reports it from an apsen parkland spring. He often collected larvae in association with leaf packs. Pupal specimens were collected from mid May to mid July. Smith suggests it is univoltine in SK.
